Home sellers who cannot hand over a valid energy label at the time of transfer face a higher fine. The fine was increased on November 1 from 170 to 435 euros. According to the Home Owners Association, the increase is related to the high cost of the energy label.
Anyone offering a home for sale is required to have a valid energy label. The price for such a label has increased significantly since Jan. 1: it costs an average of 307 euros, up from about 7.50 euros last year. According to Home Ownership Association this is the reason why the fine has now also been increased. For legal entities committing this offense, the fine is 200 percent of 435 euros.
